WHAT'S NEW
Changes you can actually see Every line here is something you notice while playing. The plumbing stays out of it.
1.8.0
current 26 August 2026Hints you can actually use
- The third hint now gives you keywords like “Horror · Survival · First person” instead of the development studio. Nobody could do anything with “2K Boston” — even though that is BioShock.
- New button below the input: “No idea · give me a hint”. If you draw a blank, you no longer have to invent a guess just to move on.
- The link in the daily email signs you in directly. Until now it opened inside your mail app in a separate session and asked you to log in again.
- When a studio is named, it is one you have heard of.
1.7.1
22 August 2026Guest rounds no longer break
- A round without an account could get stuck halfway through. It does not any more.
1.7.0
21 August 2026More puzzles, correct release years
- The release year in the hint and in the suggestion list now agree. Before, the same game could show two different years in two places.
1.6.9
19 August 2026Where the image comes from
- The screenshot now credits the database it came from, right where you see it while playing.
1.6.8
18 August 2026The intro stays out of the way
- Once a round is running, the intro disappears. It used to sit in the way long after you knew how to play.
1.6.7
17 August 2026You get to see what you were looking for
- After your last try the game reveals what the screenshot was — title, year and the sharp image. Before, you were left wondering.
1.6.4
14 August 2026One more round
- After the daily puzzle you can keep playing instead of waiting for tomorrow.
- Suggestions now show up reliably as you type — the list used to come back empty sometimes.
1.6.3
13 August 2026Help and common questions
- There is now a help page and a set of frequently asked questions.
- The intro is offered rather than forced on you the first time you visit.
1.6.2
12 August 2026Every guess tells you something
- A wrong guess now shows the release year of the game you named and an arrow towards the one you are after — much like the colours in Wordle.
- The fourth hint shows the shape of the title: how many words, how long.
- The guess log shows all your tries, not just the last few.
1.6.1
11 August 2026Faster, and easier to pick up
- The page loads far less data — noticeable above all on a phone and on mobile data.
- The intro lets you play along instead of clicking through text.
1.6.0
13 August 2026Everything now runs inside one device
- The biggest change so far: game, archive, leaderboard, shop, settings and help all sit inside the same console. The landing page used to be a page next to the game — now the address is the game.
- On a phone the console is no longer a shrunken desktop but an app: tab bar at the bottom, and the playing area is exactly one screen tall. No more scrolling mid-round.
- A ticker along the top shows what is happening right now. The column on the right holds the day's numbers and your own record.
- SUDO sits in the bottom right and announces unlocks herself.
- Help, FAQ and the legal pages read like a manual, with numbered chapters.
1.5.1
9 August 2026Clearer buttons
- Play is the only filled button, sign-in sits next to it — before, the two competed for the same attention.
- “Play now” instead of “Try for free”: the game is not a trial version, so it no longer sounds like one.
1.5.0
7 August 2026The end of a round, in a sensible order
- After a round you get the result first, then sharing, then the countdown to tomorrow — and only after that XP, achievements and archive.
- You can share your result without an account too.
- Two buttons were barely readable in the light theme. Fixed.
1.4.0
5 August 2026Why an account is worth it
- Next to the sign-in field it now says what an account gets you — eight points, one line each.
- The countdown turns red in the final half hour, and says so in words as well.
1.3.0
5 August 2026Promo codes
- Codes from videos, posts or Discord can be redeemed in the settings. The reward lands in your inbox to collect, rather than being credited silently.
1.2.0
4 August 2026Staying signed in
- “Stay signed in” did nothing — you were thrown out after two hours. It works now.
- New landing page with a countdown and a demo round that plays itself.
1.1.0
3 August 2026The pixel lens
- Once per round you can look at one part of the image more closely — without spending a try on it.
